Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S24 FE in October. Leaks have already revealed plenty about the upcoming Fan Edition phone. It brings several key upgrades over the S23 FE. As its official unveiling draws closer, the device has passed another regulatory hurdle. It recently picked up the BIS certification.
Galaxy S24 FE passes another hurdle on its way to launch
BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) is an Indian government agency overseeing the standardization, certification, and quality of products launched in the country — the Indian equivalent of the FCC in the US. It recently certified Samsung’s Galaxy S24 FE with the model number SM-S721B/DS, confirming that Indian buyers will get the global variant with dual-SIM capabilities.
We have already seen this model number in numerous places in the past, including official product pages on Samsung’s website. While the latest sighting doesn’t reveal anything we don’t know, there’s hardly a thing left to know. A major leak last week bared pretty much everything about the Galaxy S24 FE. It is bigger than the S23 FE and packs some notable upgrades.
Samsung offers a bigger and brighter display, measuring 6.7 inches diagonally with 1,900 nits of peak brightness. The Galaxy S24 FE gets an aluminum and Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection on the front and back. The Exynos 2400e chipset powers the phone, supported by up to 12GB of RAM for smoother AI processing. It runs Android 14 and supports more AI features than the S23 FE.
The Galaxy S24 FE allegedly packs a 4,565mAh battery with 25W charging support. The camera setup looks unchanged, though. The phone may sport a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide lens, an 8MP 3x zoom camera, and a 10MP selfie shooter. Samsung is currently readying the handset in graphite, silver, blue, green, and yellow colors. Stay tuned for the official launch.
