Galaxy S21 FE Gets Circle to Search Feature with August Update

Samsung is rolling out Circle to Search for the Galaxy S21 FE. The August update for the Fan Edition phone brings this AI-powered Google feature. The new update also includes the latest security fixes. Samsung has already rolled out these updates to dozens of other Galaxy devices.

August update brings Circle to Search to the Galaxy S21 FE

Introduced as part of Galaxy AI on the Galaxy S24 series, Circle to Search is a Google feature. It uses AI to identify objects or text on the screen and quickly run a Google search. When active, you can draw a circle around anything on the screen to search for it. You can even identify music playing on the device or nearby. It’s a handy tool to use Google search without leaving an app.

After rolling it out to all other supported flagships, Samsung recently pushed Circle to Search to a handful of mid-range devices. The Galaxy A55, Galaxy A54, Galaxy A35, Galaxy A34, Galaxy Tab S9 FE, and Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ received the AI tool. The update has been just released, so the new feature isn’t available globally yet. In the meantime, the Galaxy S21 FE has joined the party.

This Fan Edition phone is receiving the August update in select Asian countries, introducing Circle to Search. The Asian version of the device is picking up this update with the firmware build number G990EXXUAFXG6. It also contains the August 2024 security patch. The latest SMR (Security Maintenance Release) patches 50 vulnerabilities, including two critical flaws.

Samsung should soon release the August update for the Galaxy S21 FE in other markets. If you are rocking this phone, watch out for a notification in the coming days. You can also navigate to Settings > Software update > Download and install to check for updates manually. The Galaxy S21 FE will receive the Android 15-based one UI 7.0 update later this year or in early 2025.
