Another day, another round of August updates rolling out to Samsung Galaxy devices. The latest security patch is available for the Galaxy A72, Galaxy M34 5G, Galaxy M14 5G, and the US Galaxy Tab S7 units. International versions of the Galaxy Tab S7 and Tab S7+ have already received the August update.
Samsung is rolling out its August update to the Galaxy A72 and more
Samsung is on a mission to keep its vast lineup of Android smartphones and tablets secure and up-to-date. It pushes the latest security fixes to dozens of devices every month. The August SMR (Security Maintenance Release) has been rolling out to the Galaxy family since early this month, bringing 50 vulnerability patches, at least two of which are confirmed to be critical security issues.
The latest security update recently reached the Galaxy A72 in some markets. The update comes with the firmware build number A725FXXU9FXH1 and brings additional system stability and reliability improvements. There aren’t any new features to look forward to. Samsung may soon roll out the new SMR to this aging mid-range phone globally. The device wasn’t released in the US.
The August update for the Galaxy M34 5G bears the build number M346BXXS5CXH1, while that for the Galaxy M14 5G is M146BXXS6CXH1. It brings nothing more than the latest security fixes. The rollout began recently and could take a while before going global. These devices also never arrived in the US. Samsung doesn’t sell its M and F series devices stateside, though select A series models arrive here.
The US versions of the Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7+ are the other Samsung devices that recently started picking up the August SMR. The build number for the devices ends with DXG3. The update only contains this month’s 50 security fixes. The company has already updated these tablets in some international markets. A global rollout of the August SMR for the duo is just around the corner.
