Samsung’s upcoming premium mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy A56, has picked up another regulatory certification on its way to launch. The device has been certified by the Chinese agency TENAA, revealing its battery capacity. The official listing also contains live images showing off the phone’s design.

Galaxy A56 appears in live images ahead of launch

The Galaxy A56 will be Samsung’s next notable launch after the Galaxy S25 series. Expected to arrive in March alongside the Galaxy A36, the new mid-range handset has a handful of upgrades in store. We are looking at a new selfie camera, faster charging, a more powerful processor, and other improvements over the A55.

Over the past few weeks, Samsung has obtained several regulatory certifications for the phone. Its Chinese version (model number SM-A5660) recently stopped at TENAA, confirming a 5,000mAh battery. The Chinese agency listed the device with a rated battery capacity of 4,905mAh, which means a typical capacity of 5,000mAh. The Galaxy A56 previously picked up the 3C approval in China with 45W wired charging.

The TENAA listing reveals no other notable info. However, it contains live images showcasing the phone from various angles. The handset sports a metallic body with a Key Island button design and a floating rear camera bump. There are rumors about Samsung’s Galaxy S25 lineup potentially featuring a similar camera design, though instead of a universal bump, the flagships have separate camera rings.

More details about the Galaxy A56 should hit the rumor mill in the coming weeks. As mentioned above, the device is likely to debut in March alongside the Galaxy A36, which has also received several certifications lately. Samsung has already started putting up official support pages for its next-gen premium mid-range smartphones. Leaks might start coming thick and fast following the Galaxy S25 launch on January 22.
