Samsung will launch the Galaxy A36 in the US, a new benchmark run reveals. The US version of this upcoming 5G-enabled mid-range phone (model number SM-A366U) recently appeared on the popular benchmarking platform Geekbench. The listing confirmed its rumored Qualcomm processor, along with a few other key details.
Galaxy A36 is coming to the US soon
The Galaxy A36 surfaced on Geekbench running an octa-core Qualcomm processor with a 4+4 CPU arrangement. The chip has four performance cores clocked at 2.4GHz and four efficiency cores at 1.8GHz. These specs point to the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. Launched last year, it’s a 4nm processor manufactured by Samsung. It boasts an Adreno 710 GPU, Bluetooth v5.2, Wi-Fi 6E, 200MP camera support, and 5G cellular connectivity.
Samsung has paired the chipset with 6GB of RAM — well, the unit used for this Geekbench test featured 6GB RAM. The Galaxy A36 is likely to come in an 8GB RAM variant. Storage options may include 128GB and 256GB. The device runs Android 15, likely with One UI 7.0 on top if not 7.1. It scored 967 in single-core CPU tests, 2,750 in multi-core CPU tests, and 2,228 in GPU tests.
The listing reveals no other information about the phone. However, earlier leaks have given us a fair idea of what to expect from Samsung’s upcoming premium mid-range smartphone. The handset sports a new look featuring a vertical camera bump on the back. While the rear cameras are expected to remain unchanged, Samsung might upgrade the selfie shooter to a new 12MP sensor.
More details about the Galaxy A36 should surface in the coming weeks as Samsung prepares for its launch. The device is expected to go official in March alongside the Galaxy A56. The latter runs the company’s in-house Exynos 1580 processor and may get a charging speed boost to 45W alongside the selfie camera upgrade. Both phones should be eligible for six years of OS and security updates.
