Samsung is preparing to launch the Galaxy A16 and A16 5G. The new budget phones are expected to go official in the coming weeks. Leaks have already revealed their design and key specifications. Now, another leak has surfaced to detail their prices ahead of the official announcement.
Retailer reveals Galaxy A16 and A16 5G prices early
An early retail listing spotted by SamInsider revealed the European prices for the Galaxy A16 and A16 5G. The LTE model is priced at €209.90, while the 5G is listed at €239.90. These prices are for the base variants with 128GB of storage. The new report doesn’t specify the RAM amount, though we hope Samsung offers at least 6GB of RAM.
The phones should also be available in an 8GB RAM variant, at least in some markets. Leaks have confirmed the existence of a 256GB storage variant too, with both models offering microSD slots for external expansion of the storage capacity. Of course, the price will increase with the increase in RAM amount and storage.
In fact, we can’t confirm the authenticity of the leaked European prices for the base Galaxy A16 and A16 5G either. These could be just placeholder prices until Samsung officially unveils the duo. The company appears to be nearing the launch, so the wait shouldn’t be long. To recall, the Galaxy A15 debuted in October last year.
The upcoming budget phones from Samsung are rumored to feature a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and 800 nits of peak brightness. The company could ship the devices with different processors depending on the market. The Exynos 1330 and MediaTek Dimensity 6300+ are in contention.
Both models should pack a 5,000mAh battery and support 25W fast charging. As we reported earlier, the Galaxy A16 and A16 5G may set a new standard for software updates in the budget and mid-range segment. These phones may receive six major OS updates and six years of security patches. They will ship with Android 14 out of the box.
