Samsung’s Expert RAW app is the best companion for anyone passionate about photography, and a major update is on the way. Right now, Expert RAW doesn’t support 200MP, which is a huge downside for many people who want to make the most of the biggest lens. And we have some good news. One of the biggest highlights is support for 200MP Adaptive Pixel coming to the Expert RAW app.
Expert RAW app may soon receive a slew of new features in an upcoming update
X user @theordysm shared screenshots revealing some of the new features and UI tweaks coming to Expert RAW app. One of the biggest additions is 200MP Adaptive Pixel support, a feature designed specifically for select devices. This will allow users to enable Adaptive Pixel for the 200MP sensor through a new toggle in the app’s settings.
Samsung is also bringing more customization options to the composition grid. A new setting will let users adjust grid lines and levels, helping them fine-tune their shots with greater precision. The level guide in the viewfinder is also getting an update, making it easier to align photos. Another noticeable change is the repositioning of the image format selection, which will now appear as the fourth item in the expanded menu for quicker access.
There’s no word on which devices will receive the same set of features. The source says it’s being “developed for a particular device.” That leaves some doubt about the Galaxy S24 Ultra and older models. But it’s most likely that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will support it. Plus, there’s no word on when it will actually drop. However, what’s quite likely is that the updated Expert RAW app may begin rolling out after April 7. That’s when Samsung is expected to start releasing the stable One UI 7.0 update for supported devices.
