And if you had been waiting for some news: No, Samsung didn’t launch the Galaxy S25 Slim at Unpacked. Instead, it teased a completely new product at the end of the event, the Galaxy S25 Edge.

Samsung has been long rumored to launch a slim flagship smartphone this year. Early rumors called it the Galaxy S25 FE, while it was rebranded to Galaxy S25 Slim later on. It turns out the official name would be something different. After revealing everything about the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra at Unpacked, Samsung had its “one more thing” moment when it teased the Galaxy S25 Edge.
Samsung hardly showed anything, but hinted at a remarkably slim phone. Leaks have since revealed its full design. Rumors suggest the device in question is just 6.4mm thick. As to why the company didn’t launch it alongside the rest of the lineup, we have no answer. However, we can guess that Samsung didn’t want the Galaxy S25 Edge to clash with other models, particularly the Ultra.
The Galaxy S25 Edge is already shaping up to be a great choice for those who prefer slim phones that fit comfortably in their pockets. Let’s have a quick recap of the specs, some official and some rumored. As soon as you hold it, you’ll notice its 6.7- or 6.8-inch display, housed in a body just 6.4mm thick. It will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset and a battery capacity between 3,000mAh and 4,000mAh. This may be a drawback for those who prioritize long battery life.
For them, the Galaxy S25 Ultra could be a much better choice. It’s also been rumored for some time that the upcoming Galaxy S25 Slim will feature a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP5. Samsung paired it with a 50MP ISOCELL JN5 ultra-wide lens and a 50MP telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom. It’s expected to run One UI 7.0 (or possibly One UI 7.1) out of the box.
