Circle to Search is rolling out to mid-range Galaxy devices. Samsung announced this update last week and has now begun the rollout. The AI-powered Google feature is coming to the Galaxy A55, Galaxy A54, Galaxy A35, Galaxy A34, Galaxy Tab S9 FE, and Galaxy Tab S9 FE+. It is already available on flagship models, including foldables.
Mid-range Galaxy devices get Circle to Search
Circle to Search lets you run a Google search for anything on your Galaxy phone’s screen. A long press of the home button activates the AI tool and lets you select an object or text from the screen to search for it. Google is also adding music search functionality to the tool, letting you identify songs playing on the device or around it.
Introduced on the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung has expanded this feature to all flagship models. It is now rolling out Circle to Search to the aforementioned mid-range devices. The updates are rolling out in select markets with varying OTA (over the air) packages. As of this writing, we can confirm the following OTS sizes and firmware build numbers.
- Galaxy A34: A346NKSU7CXG1, 461MB
- Galaxy A54: A546SKSU6CXG6, 409MB
- Tab S9 FE: X510XXU5BXGE
- Tab S9 FE+: X610XXU5BXGE, 951MB
- Galaxy A35: A356NKSU2AXG9
- Galaxy A55: A556EXXU4AXH1, 849MB
Some devices are getting the latest, August 2024 security patch with this update. Others remain on the July patch. Samsung should soon release this update globally, including in the US. All of these phones and tablets are eligible for the Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update. Beta testing of the new One UI version may begin later this month.
One UI 7.0 is expected to introduce more AI features to the Galaxy family. However, it is unclear if the new tools will be available for mid-range models or if Samsung will keep those exclusive to flagships. We shall find out soon. Stay tuned for the official communication about the bet program.
