Shortly after Samsung teased the Galaxy S25 Edge at Unpacked, a company official revealed that the device will go official in the second quarter. The upcoming slim flagship has now received an important regulatory certification, confirming its battery capacity and charging speed.
Galaxy S25 Edge’s battery and charging specs may not impress anyone
The Galaxy S25 Edge is Samsung’s long-rumored slim flagship previously known as the Galaxy S25 Slim. It is said to be just 6.4mm thick and packs a 6.7-inch display with similar specs as the S25+. The phone also shares the chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, with the rest of the Galaxy S25 lineup.
Considering its sleek profile, we always expected the Galaxy S25 Edge to pack a small battery. A 3C certification now confirms a battery capacity of 3,900mAh — it is likely the typical capacity, which is the figure that companies market (the rated capacity is a bit lower). This is a decent battery size for a 6.4mm phone.
Unfortunately, Samsung doesn’t appear to offer faster charging on the Galaxy S25 Edge. The 3C certification reveals 25W wired charging, the same as the Galaxy S25. Interestingly, the Edge model is rumored to be more expensive than the Galaxy S25+. It may sit between the Plus and Ultra models. These two support 45W charging, but Samsung has seemingly left out the Edge.
The Galaxy S25 Edge may not compromise on cameras, though. Well, it sports only two cameras, but we are expecting the same 200MP main sensor as the S25 Ultra. It may even feature a better 3.5x zoom camera than the Galaxy S25 and S25+’s 3x lens. That’s if Samsung actually offers a zoom camera rather than an ultrawide lens on the back. Stay tuned for more information.
