Breaking! One UI 7.0 Camera App Shown Off at SDC 2024

by | Oct 3, 2024 | News

The annual Samsung Developer Conference is turning out quite eventful. After a disappointing lack of information at the keynote, we now have many details about One UI 7.0. The quick settings and notification shade are completely redesigned. Samsung revamped all of the stock Galaxy icons as well, with many adding a colorful touch. Rumors and leaks pointed to a redesigned camera app for One UI 7.0 and we can now confirm that as well.

CAMERA ONE UI 7.0 1

The new Camera app on One UI 7.0 features toggles at the bottom of the UI, making it easier to use with one hand. This is in line with Samsung’s namesake for One UI, introduced several years ago. The camera action toggles expand from a small menu on the right-hand side of the bottom interface. There don’t appear to be any new modes just yet. Overall this design change is a big win for Galaxy users from a reachability perspective.

Camera options expanded

We had significant time to play with One UI 7.0 at SDC 2024 and while it looks promising, the version on display at the conference is clearly far from final. Many key elements are unchanged from One UI 6.1, such as Home Screen settings and Lock Screen/AOD settings. We know that there will be a significant change to the Home Screen design, as this was detailed in the SDC keynote.

Bookmark this page as we will add more pictures of the camera app in action as we get more images and videos to share. We will also have more information about the One UI 7.0 animations and overall fluidity.
