Samsung is on a roll. Moments ago, it released the One UI 6.1.1 update for the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Fold 4, and Galaxy Z Flip 4. The big feature update is now rolling out to the Galaxy Tab S8 series. The company has already updated all newer flagships to One UI 6.1.1.
Galaxy Tab S8 series picks up One UI 6.1.1
Samsung’s One UI 6.1.1 rollouts have begun in its home country, South Korea, for all devices, and it’s no different for the Galaxy Tab S8, Tab S8+, and Tab S8 Ultra. Both Wi-Fi and cellular (5G) versions of the 2022 flagship tablets are receiving the update. The new firmware build number for the Wi-Fi version is CXHB (last four digits), while that for the 5G version is HXHB.
The update size varies depending on the model and connectivity version. However, since we are talking about a major feature update, we are looking at OTA (over the air) files weighing well over 2GB (nearly 3GB for some models). One UI 6.1.1 brings new AI features and other improvements from Samsung’s latest foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6.
With this expansion, Samsung has updated all eligible Galaxy flagships to One UI 6.1.1. While most devices received the September security patch in Korea, the company pushed the August patch in other markets. For the Tab S8, One UI 6.1.1 comes with the August patch. Since these tablets are no longer eligible for monthly security patches, they may not receive the September release.
It’s no big deal though. This update is primarily about the new One UI version rather than security fixes. One UI 6.1.1 breathes a new life into your Galaxy device, thanks to the plethora of new features on offer. The Galaxy Tab S8 trio will soon receive this update in other markets, including the US. You can always check for software updates from the Settings app on your Galaxy device.
