Shortly after Samsung announced the first update for the Galaxy S25 series, the rollout began in South Korea. It contains call and camera-related bug fixes alongside the latest, February 2025, security patches. The update will soon roll out globally.
Galaxy S25’s first software update is now live
The first software update for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra comes with the firmware build number S93*NKSU1AYB3 in South Korea. The update file weighs nearly 600MB and contains fixes for call and camera bugs. Some Ultra users reported banding issues with low-light photos. The devices are also picking up the February security patch.
Samsung will soon roll out this update to other parts of the world. The build number may vary but expect the same changelog everywhere. The aforementioned banding issues in night mode photos were reported by Galaxy S25 Ultra users from various markets. Samsung did say it will roll out a fix this week, and delivered to the promise.
As far as the call issues are concerned, there have been a few reports of the proximity sensor misbehaving when on the loudspeaker, causing a temporary loss of audio. It’s unclear whether Samsung is rolling out a fix for this issue or if there are other call-related problems with the new flagships.
Either way, the update is now rolling out and it’s only a matter of time before all Galaxy S25 users receive it. As mentioned above, this update also contains the February security patch, which addresses over 40 vulnerabilities across the Galaxy family. The new flagships shipped with the December 2024 build, so Samsung skipped the January 2025 release.
You can always check for updates manually on your phone. Open the Settings app and navigate to Software update > Download and install. If you don’t see any updates today, wait some time and check again. Note that the Galaxy S25 series supports seamless updates, so your phone will install the update in the background and only require a restart to complete the installation.
