In recent weeks, multiple reports have pointed to a potential price hike for Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series. Increasing material costs have reportedly driven up production expenses, leaving the company with little choice but to adjust pricing. Yet another source has echoed these claims, so better start planning your budget.
Samsung might be forced to increase the Galaxy S25’s price
Reports suggest Samsung could increase Galaxy S25 prices by $100 or more, depending on the model and configuration. The price hike is expected to vary across markets, but most buyers worldwide may end up paying more than they did for the Galaxy S24 lineup. According to a new report from Korean media, even Samsung’s home market isn’t likely to be spared.
Interestingly, the report says Samsung could still ship the new flagships with its in-house Exynos 2500 processor in some regions. It isn’t entirely off the cards yet, though chances are low because of Samsung Foundry’s poor 3nm yields. In all probability, the Galaxy S25 trio will run Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite worldwide.
Rumors suggest the Galaxy S26 series might also be Snapdragon-exclusive. Samsung’s foundry division is reportedly facing challenges with improving its 2nm yield rate, which could sideline the Exynos 2600, much like its predecessor. Alternatively, the company might consider using MediaTek’s Dimensity processors if Qualcomm raises its prices again.
The Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra are expected to debut in late January running Android 15-based One UI 7.1 out of the box. Samsung recently rolled out One UI 7.0 beta for the Galaxy S24 series. It brings a host of UI upgrades and functional enhancements. There are a couple of new Galaxy AI features as well. Samsung should introduce more AI features with One UI 7.1 next year.
