AuraCast on the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra – The Ultimate Guide

by | Jun 10, 2024 | Tutorial

AuraCast is a hidden gem found in One UI 6.1 on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. This new Bluetooth functionality is currently exclusive to select devices, including Samsung’s flagship device. I’ll guide you through starting and joining an AuraCast broadcast. Let’s get started!

What is AuraCast?

AuraCast is a cutting-edge Bluetooth feature that allows you to broadcast audio from your device to multiple Bluetooth-enabled headphones simultaneously. This can be incredibly useful in public spaces, allowing multiple people to listen in without disturbing others. Right now, it’s available on the Galaxy S24 Ultra, and we’ll see it on more devices soon.

How to Start an AuraCast on Galaxy S24 Ultra

  • Open Settings: Go to the settings menu on your Galaxy S24 Ultra.
  • Navigate to Connections: Find and select the ‘Connections’ option.
  • Access Bluetooth Settings: Tap on ‘Bluetooth’ and then the three dots menu in the top-right corner.
  • Select Broadcast Sound: You’ll see an option for ‘Broadcast Sound using AuraCast’. Tap on it.
  • Start Broadcast: Tap ‘Start Broadcast’ at the bottom. You’ll need at least one Bluetooth audio device connected to your phone to begin.

While broadcasting, others can join by entering a password.

How to Join an AuraCast

  • Prepare Your Headphones: Ensure your Bluetooth headphones are ready to connect. I’ll be using my Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 earbuds for this demonstration.

  • Open Settings on Another Device: On the second device, navigate to ‘Connections’ in the settings.
  • Locate AuraCast: You’ll see the AuraCast symbol at the bottom right corner. Tap on ‘Listen to AuraCast Broadcast.’
  • Enter Password: If prompted, enter the broadcast password to join the audio stream.

Troubleshooting and Tips

AuraCast is still in its early stages and can be buggy. Some common issues include frequent disconnections and the inability to monitor the broadcast on the source device. If you encounter issues, check out forums like Reddit where other users share their experiences and solutions.

Why is This a Game Changer

AuraCast represents the future of Bluetooth audio, especially for public use. Imagine being in a public place and seamlessly joining an audio broadcast with just your earbuds. This feature could revolutionize how we consume public audio information and entertainment.

The AuraCast feature on the Galaxy S24 Ultra is a fascinating glimpse into the future of audio sharing. Despite some current limitations, it’s an exciting development worth exploring if you’re a tech enthusiast.

The new Galaxy Z Fold 6 will surely come packed with AuraCast as well. If you’re planning to buy one, check out the Unpacked event on July 10th. Make sure to also sign up for our early order links and get in our free mystery box program!
