While all eyes are on the Galaxy S25 flagships, Samsung has a bunch of budget phones in the pipeline. The company is readying the Galaxy A06 5G, Galaxy M16 5G, and Galaxy F16 for launch in the coming months. The Galaxy A56 and Galaxy A36 mid-rangers are also on the way.
Samsung readies Galaxy A06 5G and more budget phones
In August, Samsung launched the Galaxy A06, an entry-level Android smartphone. The Korean firm is now gearing up to introduce a 5G version. It recently obtained the Wi-Fi certification for the Galaxy A06 5G “dual-SIM” with the model number SM-A066B/DS. The phone supports Wi-Fi 5, the same as its 4G-only sibling.
No other information is available about this phone. However, we expect Samssung to keep things unchanged over the 4G model, apart from switching to a 5G-ready chipset. This means a 6.7-inch LCD screen, 50MP main camera, 8MP selfie camera, up to 128GB of storage and 6GB of RAM, and 25W charging.
Additionally, Samsung is working on the Galaxy M16 and Galaxy F16, both of which should be loosely rebranded versions of the Galaxy A16 launched in October. The former is said to come with 5G connectivity (there’s a Galaxy A16 5G as well), while we are waiting for information on the F16’s connectivity specs.
Leaked renders show a rear camera redesign for the upcoming M and F series budget phones compared to the A series model. Samsung introduced a camera bump with a stylish dual-housing design. The company appears to be doing away with the minimalist approach where all rear cameras protrude out of the back panel individually. It has used this design on almost every phone in 2023 and 2024.
There’s no word yet on the official launch of Samsung’s Galaxy A06, M16 5G, and F16. The company might be readying a Galaxy F06 as well. All of these phones could go official over the next few months. The Galaxy S25 series, meanwhile, looks set to debut on January 22, 2025. We will keep you posted.
