Not many would remember, but Samsung owns audio product brands like JBL, Harman Kardon, AKG, and more. These brands joined the Samsung family after the South Korean tech giant acquired Harman International Industries back in 2016.
Samsung finally lets JBL audio gear up on its online shop
Despite years of ownership, Samsung’s online shop never offered JBL products, instead redirecting customers to JBL’s own store. But that’s finally changed. Now, you can purchase JBL products directly from Samsung’s online shop or the Samsung Shop mobile app.
Let bygones be bygones. Samsung has started offering JBL products through its online shop. Simply hover around the Accessories section and select TV & Audio accessories. You’ll find a separate category for JBL Audio. The change is rolling out in the US and will likely expand to other regions soon.
We wonder what took so long
It’s still unclear why it took Samsung so long to finally list JBL products on its website. One possible reason for the delay is that even though Samsung owns JBL, the brand remains independent and caters to a broader audience than Samsung. This is still just an assumption. But one thing’s for sure: I’m happy to report that you now have a more comprehensive catalog available.
It features nearly two dozen JBL audio products on the website. From ANC headphones and wireless earbuds to portable speakers and party speakers, Samsung now sells all of these JBL products.
Another thing to note is that it’s unclear whether Samsung will allow you to use Samsung Credit earned from previous purchases to get discounts on JBL audio gear. Since Samsung has quietly listed these products, we might hear more soon. Or perhaps even some exciting discounts.
We’ll keep an eye out for any updates or sweet JBL deals that Samsung might offer. Stay tuned!
