Samsung has finally released the November security update for the Galaxy S23 series in Europe. It comes a whole month after the US rollout. The Galaxy S24 series, meanwhile, is receiving its second November patch in the region. This update was released to US versions last week.
November update finally available for the Galaxy S23 series in Europe
The Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra were one of the first phones to receive Samsung’s November security patch, aka security maintenance release (SMR). However, the company has been incredibly inconsistent with the rollout. While the US versions received the update early in November, users in other markets such as India had to wait longer.
The situation has been worse for the Galaxy S23 lineup. Once again, Samsung started early in the US but took inexplicably longer to bring the update to other regions. It even rolled out a second November SMR for the 2023 flagship trio stateside, while European users didn’t even receive the first one.
That’s finally changing, with the November update rolling out to the European Galaxy S23 units over the weekend. The update comes with the firmware build number S91*BXXU7CXK4 and is widely available in the region. It appears to carry the same security enhancements as other markets, including the US.
Additionally, Samsung has released the second November SMR for the Galaxy S24 series in Europe. This update bears the build number S92*BXXU4AXK4, @tarunvats33 confirms. It’s unclear if the company plans to release a second patch for the European Galaxy S23 trio or if it bundled both updates into one patch.
Samsung will soon shift its focus to the December security update for Galaxy phones and tablets. It is also expected to release the One UI 7.0 beta this month, at least for the Galaxy S24 series. The company has already developed the December One UI 7.0 builds for the latest flagships. The official rollout could begin anytime now.
