Over the past few weeks, Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series has bagged several necessary certifications on its way to launch in January 2025. The phones recently passed through the FCC website, revealing some key details. One of the most notable changes is support for Wi-Fi 7 for all models.
Galaxy S25 and S25+ set for major connectivity upgrade with Wi-Fi 7
The FCC certified all three Galaxy S25 models, confirming key connectivity features. According to the listing, the entire lineup will support Wi-Fi 7, a major upgrade for the Galaxy S25 and S25+. Their predecessors are limited to Wi-Fi 6E because the Exynos 2400 doesn’t support the latest standard. The Galaxy S24 Ultra runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor globally and supports Wi-Fi 7.
While the other two models are also powered by the Qualcomm processor in the US and select other markets, Samsung restricted Wi-Fi 7 with software to ensure buyers get the same features globally. For the Galaxy S25 series, the company is using the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor everywhere. As such, it is offering the latest Wi-Fi standard across the lineup.
Samsung still isn’t offering ultra-wideband (UWB) on all three Galaxy S25 models, FCC reveals. Only the S25+ and S25 Ultra have it, with the base model missing out on it. Elsewhere, the base Galaxy S25 remains on 25W wired charging speed, while the other two support 45W charging. Samsung will also seemingly not upgrade the base S25 to a QHD+ AMOLED display, limiting it to FHD+ resolution.
