Unlike the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition “slim” foldable, Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Slim may be available globally. A few weeks ago, its US version appeared in the IMEI database with the model number SM-S937U. Now, the global version has shown up on the same website with an identical model number (SM-S937B). Samsung is rumored to tease the device during the Galaxy S25 launch in January.
Galaxy S25 Slim will see a global release
Samsung left many Galaxy fans disappointed by restricting its slimmest foldable smartphone to just a couple of markets. The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition is available only in South Korea and China. Thankfully, the company won’t do the same with the Galaxy S25 Slim. The upcoming slim flagship will see a global release, IMEI listings confirm.
As usual, the IMEI database doesn’t explicitly name the phone. The listings only mention the brand “Samsung” and the model number “SM-S937”. Since the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra bear the model numbers SM-S931, SM-S936, and SM-S938 respectively, it’s obvious that we are looking at a flagship model in the same lineup. The Galaxy S25 FE should be SM-S731.
Moreover, the IMEI certification confirms the existence of US (U) and global (B) versions of the Galaxy S25 Slim, with the latter offering dual-SIM support (DS). According to recent leaks, Samsung plans to tease the phone at its next Unpacked event where it will unveil the other three models. The event is likely to take place in San Francisco, USA, on January 22, 2025. The Slim model will reportedly arrive in the second quarter.
Like the rest of the lineup, Samsung plans to ship the Galaxy S25 Slim with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite “For Galaxy” processor globally. There may not be an Exynos variant. The Galaxy S25 FE, meanwhile, could exclusively run the Exynos 2500 or some other flagship Exynos processor. The FE model is expected to launch in the fourth quarter of 2025.
