Shortly after announcing the One UI 6 Watch update for older models, Samsung released a new update for the Galaxy Watch 7 as well. The company is pushing the latest, November 2024, security patch and stability improvements to the device. The Galaxy Watch Ultra should also soon receive this update.
Galaxy Watch 7 gets the November security update
As of this writing, the November update is rolling out to the Galaxy Watch 7 in Samsung’s home country, South Korea. Users with the Bluetooth version picked up the firmware build number L300XXU1AXK6 (40mm) or L310XXU1AXK6 (44mm) — the first four digits denote the model number. Their LTE counterparts (SM-L305 and SM-L315) do not seem to have received this update yet.
Samsung should soon roll out the new software release to all Galaxy Watch 7 models globally, including in the US. The build number could vary depending on the connectivity variant and your region. However, the changelog should remain the same. According to Samsung, this update brings system stability improvements, functional enhancements, and the latest security fixes.
There aren’t any new features in tow, which was expected considering that the Korean firm just started pushing Galaxy Watch 7 features to older models. It will start working on the next feature update once it is done update the Galaxy Watch 6, Watch 5, Watch 4, and Watch FE to One UI 6 Watch. Alongside the Watch 7, the Galaxy Watch Ultra also runs One UI 6 Watch out of the box.
Speaking of which, the November update should soon roll out to the Ultra model. It is the company’s most powerful smartwatch yet. Since this model only comes in an LTE variant, Samsung may update it alongside the LTE-enabled Watch 7. We expect the rollout to begin in the coming weeks. You can check for updates from the Settings app on your watch or the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone.
