Samsung India has extended its free screen replacement program for Galaxy S22 Ultra and other models affected by the green line issue. Several users reported this problem in the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy S21 FE, and Galaxy S22 Ultra. While the one-time free screen replacement program for affected users began in April, it’s now extended until December 31, 2024.
Samsung extends free green line screen replacement deadline to December 31 for these Galaxy phones
Tipster Tarun Vats on X first reported this, sharing screenshots of chats with Samsung Support, which confirmed the free screen replacement promo ends on December 31. The eligible Galaxy phones for free screen replacement include the following (with their respective model numbers).
- Galaxy S21 (SM-G991B)
- Galaxy S21+ (SM-G996B)
- Galaxy S21 Ultra (SM-G998B)
- Galaxy S21 FE 5G (SM-G990B/E)
- Galaxy S22 Ultra (SM-S908E)
You can verify your model number by going to Settings > About phone on your Galaxy device. Once confirmed, if you own any of these models, take it to your nearest Samsung service center. We’re not sure if Samsung India will extend the deadline, so be sure to act quickly: before December 31.
There are certain conditions your Galaxy phone(s) must meet
Per the screenshots, Samsung has some conditions your affected Galaxy phone must meet to get a free green line screen replacement. First, the device must not have any physical or water damage. Second, the phone must be within three years of the purchase date. Additionally, only the original purchaser is eligible for the free replacement, and you’ll need to provide the original invoice.
Gadgets360 reached out to Samsung support to confirm additional details. It turns out Samsung will offer a one-time screen replacement, along with a new battery and kit, at no extra charge. However, you’ll still need to pay the labor charges associated with the repair.
Samsung isn’t the only phone brand to have suffered the green line issue. In recent months, several users have reported facing green line issues on OnePlus, Motorola and vivo phones, too.
