Samsung may be delaying the One UI 7.0 update for Galaxy users, but the company is delivering security updates to eligible devices at an impressive pace. Several Galaxy models have already received the latest, November 2024 security patch, and now the Galaxy A35 is joining the list. The company will expand this update to more devices.
Galaxy A35 grabs Samsung’s November security update
As of this writing, the November security update is available for the Galaxy A35 in select countries in Latin America, including Colombia. The update comes with the firmware build number A356EXXS4AXK1 and brings system stability improvements alongside this month’s security fixes. Samsung has already revealed the content of the latest security patch.
The November SMR (Security Maintenance Release) includes 52 patches in total, addressing vulnerabilities in the Android OS and Galaxy-specific features. Samsung and Google have rated most of these issues as highly severe, potentially allowing threat actors to exploit those and gain remote access to affected devices. Samsung hasn’t disclosed some flaws to avoid abuse before users can install the patch.
The Galaxy S35 doesn’t get any additional changes or new features with its latest update. The phone launched earlier this year with Android 14. It will receive Android 15 and One UI 7 sometime next year. The mid-range handset is eligible for four major Android OS updates and five years of security patches. You’ll soon receive the November SMR if you haven’t already.
That said, the rollout is still in its initial phase and might take a few days to reach all Galaxy A35 units globally. If you’ve received a notification about the update, it is recommended to install it promptly to enjoy a smoother and more secure Galaxy experience. You can always manually check for updates from the Settings app. Go to the Software update menu and tap Download and install.
