You Can Now Download the Hyped Arc Search On Your Galaxy Phone

The Browser Company’s much-hyped Arc Search browser is now available to everyone. It was rolled out in an open beta six weeks ago, but now anyone can download it from the Play Store.

“We’re beyond excited to finally bring Arc Search to the largest OS on the planet: Android,” the company posted. It also announced that more than 100,000 Android users participated in the Arc Search beta program.

So if you’re looking for an alternative to Chrome or Samsung Internet on your Galaxy or Android phone, you might want to give Arc Search a try. It’s not a definitive recommendation, but it’s worth testing out for a change. I’ve personally been using Arc Search for a while, but since my job requires testing multiple browsers at once, I can’t say I’m loyal to any one of them.

Arc Search comes with a range of features, including Browse for Me, ad blocking, decluttered tabs, and more. The standout feature is Browse for Me, which basically brings Perplexity-like summaries directly into the browser. It reads out search results, summarizes them, and creates a page with the information you’re looking for.

Next is Ad Blocking, which, as the name suggests, provides a cleaner browsing experience by removing annoying pop-ups and ads. Another feature is Decluttered Tabs, which archives inactive tabs, giving you a neater and more organized interface.

The latest stable version introduces several new features, including voice search, customizable widgets and icons for the home screen, and support for landscape mode. It also allows you to browse in your native language and offers full compatibility with Android 12 (One UI 4.0). Oh, and per release notes, there’s also an Android-exclusive Neon icon.

Arc is developed and run by The Browser Company, an NYC-based startup. Originally launched as a Mac-exclusive app, it later expanded to iPhone and Windows. Now as it officially lands on Android, Arc is now available across four major operating systems.
