Galaxy S25 Series Launch Could Be January 5 — Or Maybe Not

by | Nov 12, 2024 | News

We’re inching closer to the Galaxy S25 launch every day, and there are many things we are learning along the way. Summing up the rumors, we will see the initial trio of the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra earlier next year. The Galaxy S25 Slim will join as a fourth sibling sometime later.

Now, Galaxy S25 launch date might have been accidentally leaked via an online survey. A user on X, who goes by @pnk505, posted that the Galaxy S25 line will launch on January 5. This speculation is based on “an online survey to customers about promotions when it’s ready to pre-order. (sic)”

Galaxy S25 Line Tipped to Launch on January 5

Per the post on X, there’s a survey asking users about the promotional details of the Galaxy S25 series. There is also a reward, as mentioned, for completing the survey, which may have let the cat out of the bag regarding the launch timeline.

When I translated the text on the survey’s landing page (using Google Translate), there were some clues, such as “New Galaxy S Series 2025,” and that the survey runs from November 11 to November 24. It also mentions that a 10% discount voucher will be sent on January 5.

Could Galaxy S25 release on January 5?

In short, we can’t tell if Samsung will change its mind. But to add some context, Samsung has typically released its flagship S phones in the second week of January, at the earliest, and as late as March. That’s why January 5 doesn’t seem like the ideal date for Samsung to kick off the release of its flagship phones.

As Android Central argues, January 5 is a Sunday, and a weekend release doesn’t make sense. Samsung, however, could start its Reserve Program on the tipped date, as it typically started the year’s Reserve Program roughly two weeks in advance of the launch event. When we add two weeks to the speculated date, it makes complete sense.

So, while the leak is intriguing, it’s not fully conclusive. Nonetheless, any information we get is valuable as we piece together what’s to come.
