You may not like the latest rumor about the base Galaxy S25 model. According to a tipster, Samsung may only include 8GB of RAM on the device, rather than 12GB as standard. Although the source isn’t entirely certain, if accurate, this could be a letdown for those expecting a higher RAM option.
The base Galaxy S25’s RAM amount may disappoint you
Samsung launched the Galaxy S24 this year with 8GB and 12GB RAM options, while the S24+ and S24 Ultra models come standard with 12GB RAM. Expectations were high that the company would make 12GB RAM the standard across the Galaxy S25 lineup next year, with the Ultra model possibly even offering a 16GB RAM variant.
While this upgrade appears likely for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the rumored RAM boost for the base S25 model may not pan out. Tipster @Jukanlosreve says Samsung might offer only 8GB of RAM on its next-gen compact flagship. Like this year, some regions may get a 12GB RAM variant. However, the 8GB model isn’t going away.
Samsung allegedly can’t upgrade the base Galaxy S25 to 12GB RAM globally because of “low DRAM yield”. Of course, this isn’t set in stone yet, so things could change down the line. The upcoming flagships are expected to bring major AI enhancements, including new Galaxy AI tools. A RAM boost would have helped in AI processing.
