Galaxy users around the world are eagerly anticipating the release of the One UI 7.0 beta, expected later this month. While Samsung hasn’t officially announced the rollout yet, there have been some hints from the company. We now have insider information with new details about the upcoming major update. The stable version is already confirmed to arrive in early 2025.
Tipsters reveal more about Samsung’s One UI 7.0 beta plans
A few days ago, Samsung started putting up One UI 7.0 beta pages on its official community forums, fueling speculations of a nearing rollout. Noted tipster Ice Universe claimed that the beta update is “really coming this time” but will “take another half month”. This suggests the first beta will drop in mid-November. In the meantime, Samsung continues to work on the update.
The same source recently said the latest internal One UI 7.0 build has changed substantially over the previous builds seen in leaks. Samsung has improved system animations and the overall aesthetic of its custom software. The changes are so big you can disregard all previous versions. The tipster also confirmed that One UI 7.0 will show bigger album art on the lockscreen media player.
In a separate post, X user @SamsonSirJi said Samsung finalized the development of the latest build on October 31. The company deems it stable enough for a public beta rollout. While it isn’t without flaws, developers have ironed out most of the issues. There’s a noticeable battery drain but it’s expected with major updates which go through aggressive background optimization.
Changes in the system and security protocols cause some apps to misbehave or malfunction, particularly financial or banking apps, but that isn’t a major issue either. Developers usually upgrade their apps to address compatibility issues after every major One UI update. Otherwise, One UI 7.0 has reached suitable stability for a public release. Hopefully, Samsung will announce the update soon.
