With less than a month to go until the One UI 7.0 beta release, massive features continue to leak. A few days ago, we saw an official promo video for the new OS, revealing the new icons, quick panel, and more. We also heard that Samsung would include a number of new Galaxy AI features in One UI 7.0. We now have more specifics, as leaker Chun Bai on X suggests that Galaxy AI will add notification summaries on the lock screen.
The addition of notification summaries should come as no surprise. Apple added this feature in iOS 18.1 with Apple Intelligence and Samsung needed to include it to keep pace. We’ve tested Apple’s version on the iPhone 16 Pro and it can be quite useful. Unfortunately, it can also lead to some serious gaffes when the AI misinterprets a particular conversation thread.
In one instance, Apple Intelligence misinterpreted our Nest Doorbell notifications on Halloween, alerting us that the police (trick or treaters) were at our door. Not the best and a bit scary. Samsung has a bit more experience in the AI game, so perhaps the Galaxy AI version will come a bit more polished.
One UI 7.0 Release Date
In his X post, Chun Bai suggests that Samsung will simply call the new feature AI notification. We think that Notification Assist might be more appropriate to keep it in line with other Galaxy AI features, but AI notification isn’t awful. It is also possible that Samsung may change the name before the final build of One UI 7.0 is ready.
If you’re waiting on the beta testing phase, we expect it to kick off in the 2nd or 3rd week of November. The most likely date is November 21st at SDC 24′ Korea. Samsung will live stream the event and we will live tweet it as well! Make sure to follow us over on X and check back for more One UI 7.0 leaks as they’re sure to keep coming.
