Some Galaxy users are experiencing issues with the latest version of the Samsung Notes app. The app crashes automatically when users attempt to add an image via the internet. Samsung has acknowledged the problem and assured that a fix is on the way. The company has also provided affected users with a temporary solution to address the issue.
Samsung Notes crashes when adding an image via the internet
Galaxy users have reported this issue with version 4.4.21.71 of Samsung Notes. After installing this version, some image files sourced directly from the internet are not being recognized correctly. This causes the app to close unexpectedly when users try to insert images from a website. Several users have confirmed the problem in Samsung’s official community forum.
A forum moderator recently acknowledged the issue, revealing that Samsung Notes fails to properly validate certain image files, leading to the crashes. The moderator assured users that Samsung is working on a solution and plans to release a fix soon. In the meantime, they advised users to first save the image on their phone before adding it to Notes to avoid crashes.
You can press and hold an image on a website to download it. The image is then saved to your Galaxy phone’s gallery. Then open the Samsung Notes app and proceed to add the image to your note. This seemingly circumvents the validation error caused when you insert images directly from the web. If you follow these steps, the app shouldn’t crash and work properly.
An upcoming update for Samsung Notes should fix this issue, allowing users to insert images from websites. We recently received version 4.4.23.25 of the app on our Galaxy S24 Ultra. However, we can’t confirm if the issue has been fixed as we never had the problem with version 4.4.21.71. Anyway, keep the app updated to ensure stable performance. You can check for updates via the Galaxy Store.
