Samsung is one of the first manufacturers to roll out the October 2024 security update to its smartphones on time. Apart from updating its flagship models, Samsung has also rolled out the same update to its mid-range Galaxy A series handsets. The new update for the Galaxy S22 series of smartphones brings all the latest fixes for security issues. Notably, the new firmware is available for all Galaxy S22 models including the Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra.
Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra get October 2024 security update
If you have a Samsung Galaxy S22, S22+, or the S22 Ultra model, then you can simply update to the new firmware. You can do this by going to Settings > Software update and tapping the Download and install update option on your devices. According to the reports, the Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra’s new upgrade can be identified using the model numbers “S901BXXSCEXI4”, “S906BXXSCEXI4”, and “S908BXXSCEXI4” respectively.
The October 2024 security update for the Galaxy S22 series brings fixes for several security issues. It has as many as 42 security fixes. 30 of these problems are associated with all Android devices and 12 of them are affecting Samsung products. Notably, the latest update also brings a fix for a security bug on devices that are powered by select Exynos processors. However, it is not affecting the Exynos 2200 that’s powering the Galaxy S22 series.
In the meantime, we are waiting for Samsung to deliver the first One UI 7 beta update to its eligible devices. Samsung has already announced that the beta update will be initially rolled out to developers before the end of this year. Notably, it is also confirmed that Samsung will be launching a public beta update for its regular users. However, there’s no word when exactly the public beta version of the One UI 7 will be available for the users at the moment.
