Samsung has delayed the launch of its latest Android custom skin, One UI 7, numerous times. However, the South Korean tech giant will finally release the One UI 7 beta version in December. The new UI will first debut with the upcoming Galaxy S25 series of smartphones in early 2025. In the meantime, the company is testing it out on various existing handsets. According to the reliable tipster Ice Universe, the company has already tested One UI 7 on the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Furthermore, the tipster claims that One UI 7 is still in the development stage, apart from revealing some details about the upcoming changes. We already know this from our visit to the Samsung Developer Conference 2024 earlier this month.

The leaker suggests that Samsung has already tested One UI 7 custom Android skin on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 foldable. Notably, the tipster claims the version that is tested on the device is the latest One UI 7 version. The new UI was tested on the phone’s model number SM-F9560, which happens to be for the Chinese market. The newfound test firmware has two build numbers including F9560ZCU1BXJ4 and F9560CHC1BXJ4.

One UI 7 is still in the development stages and many icons have changed
Furthermore, Ice Universe suggests that One UI 7’s latest version that’s in development is very smooth. The company has changed many icons in the new custom skin. Also, the Gallery icons have been changed again. Furthermore, the brand has added, “some incomparably rich widgets, more than any other OS”.
Notably, we already saw the redesign of many key Galaxy icons for the One UI 7.0 version at the SDC 2024. A handful of new icon designs were visible on the demo devices at the event. The new Galaxy Store icon, Gallery icon, Settings icon, and more were displayed on these devices.
As for the rich widgets, the One UI 7 version will have a new option to customize icons and widget styles. The company has revamped widgets to give them a more stylish and modern look. It goes hand-in-hand with the overall new changes in the design. That said, we will see the final redesign of the UI and icons in the beta launch later this year in December.
