Despite introducing several hardware and software upgrades, Samsung doesn’t expect the Galaxy S25 series to outsell the S24 series. The company estimates similar market demand for its next-gen flagships. It plans to produce around 22 million units across the three models by June 2025. Total sales are projected to reach 30 million by the end of 2025.
Galaxy S25 series projected to just about match S24 sales despite upgrades
For the past several years, Samsung’s Ultra flagships have outsold the smaller two models. The trend is expected to continue next year. According to the Korean media, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will account for over 50% of the initial production run of the S25 series. The company plans to produce around 11 million Ultra models, nearly 7 million base S25, and 4 million S25+ units.
The mass production of the phones begins in December, with Samsung churning out two million devices by the end of this year. The firm will follow up with five million units in January, four million in February, over three million in March, and over two million Galaxy S25 units each in April, May, and June. The total production volume by the end of 2025 may reach 30 million, similar to the S24 series.
In fact, a recent report from The Elec suggests the upcoming flagships may not sell as much as the current models. The total sales figure for the Galaxy S24 trio is expected to hit early-to-mid- 30 million units, more than the projected production volume for the 2025 models. It may reflect a wider market condition for 2025 but doesn’t quite bode well for Samsung’s smartphone division.
The Galaxy S25 series will arrive in early 2025 with a redesigned Ultra model.
