After months of waiting, Samsung is finally expanding Galaxy XR availability to the UK. It’s now available for pre-order and goes on sale from July 8. It costs £1,699, and you can save 30% when you buy controllers or a travel case, as well as £100 off with the code PAYPALXR.

You can now buy Samsung’s Galaxy XR in the UK

The Galaxy XR runs on Google’s Android XR operating system, and is built with help from Google and Qualcomm. It focuses a lot on AI features powered by Gemini. Users can control things using voice, hand gestures, and what they see through the headset. It’s designed to feel simple and natural to use.

The hardware hasn’t changed much since it was first shown. The big updates are on the software side. Samsung has added better support for Google services. For example, users can explore places in 3D using Google Maps Immersive View. Gemini can also give suggestions while you’re exploring.

Moreover, the Galaxy XR also supports 180 and 360-degree videos on YouTube. There’s also a new way to view content in 3D. Users can even ask Gemini questions about what they’re watching without stopping the video.

Samsung is also adding useful mixed reality tools. Circle to Search works with hand gestures, letting users search for objects they see in the real world. Another feature can turn normal photos and videos into 3D content.

The Galaxy XR runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chip and has dual 4K Micro-OLED displays. Battery life is around 2.5 hours, which is fairly average for this type of device.

If you want to try it before buying, demos start today (June 17) at Samsung KX in London and stores in Westfield London, Stratford City, and Manchester Trafford Centre. Samsung will also host a livestream on June 19 at 12:30 to show the device in action and take questions.
