Yet Another Chinese Phone Uses Samsung’s Best 200MP Camera Sensor

Samsung develops a wide range of components in-house, many of which power not only its own smartphones but also devices from rival brands. One key area is imaging hardware, where Samsung produces advanced camera sensors through its System LSI division. These sensors, sold under the ISOCELL brand, are widely used across the industry.
Xiaomi joins Vivo in using Samsung’s 200MP ISOCELL HPB sensor
A good example is the Vivo X300 Ultra, which has gained a reputation for delivering top-tier camera performance. This is largely due to its use of Samsung’s latest ISOCELL HPB sensor. Interestingly, Samsung itself has yet to include this sensor in its own smartphones. So to answer your question, yes, even the latest Galaxy S26 Ultra doesn’t use this sensor.
The Vivo X300 Ultra was the first device to debut with the ISOCELL HPB sensor, setting a high bar for mobile photography. However, it is no longer alone. According to popular tipster Ice Universe, the Xiaomi 17 Max also features Samsung’s ISOCELL HPB sensor, too. It was launched this week in China, and hits store shelves on May 25.
The ISOCELL HPB is a 200MP sensor. A sample shot shared by the tipster, along with a cropped version, highlights the level of detail it can capture. The big question is whether the Galaxy S27 Ultra will come with the ISOCELL HPB, or if Samsung will skip the sensor upgrade next year as well. We’ll have to wait a few months to find out.
