Samsung Increases Galaxy S26 Production Target for This Month

It looks like Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series continues to see solid demand, with the Ultra model playing a big role in the success. The company has increased the production target of all three Galaxy S26 models for this month (May). This comes after earlier increases in the April production plan.
The Galaxy S26 series sees an increase in production plans
According to a report from ZDNet Korea, Samsung now plans to make 1 million units of the Galaxy S26, 200,000 units of the S26+, and 1.2 to 1.3 million units of the S26 Ultra for May 2026. These numbers are higher than earlier estimates as of April 2026.
At that time, the Korean firm expected to produce around 700,000 units of the base model, 200,000 to 300,000 units of the Plus model, and 1 to 1.1 million units of the Ultra model. This shows an increase in both the standard and Ultra variants. However, the production plan for the Plus model appears to remain unchanged.
Reports suggest the Galaxy S26 Ultra accounts for around 70% of total sales in the lineup. Thanks to its innovative feature, Privacy Display, it has caught buyers’ attention around the world. The feature hides screen content from side angles while keeping it visible from the front. This helps protect user privacy in public spaces.
Samsung appears to believe the Galaxy S26 lineup is best positioned to support sales performance in the second quarter, which is usually a slow season. Premium devices like the Galaxy S series bring in much higher profit per unit than mid-range models. As a result, even lower shipment volumes could boost revenue and profits.
As of this writing, Samsung’s official US online store lists all Galaxy S26 models with discounted prices. Both Galaxy S26 Ultra and S26+ see a price cut of $200 off, while the standard S26 is $100 off. This suggests the company aims to solidify sales of its 2026 flagship models.
