TikTok Brings Ad-Free Experience with Monthly Plan

TikTok has launched an ad-free subscription plan that removes ads from its feed. The plan is currently rolling out gradually for users aged 18 or over in the UK. There is no word on expansion to other markets, including the US.

TikTok said it believes in giving users a choice in how they experience the platform, supporting discovery, connection, and inspiration. The ad-free subscription plan is part of that approach. It costs £3.99 per month and bundles two key benefits. These include no ads on TikTok and no use of user data for advertising purposes.
If you do not want to subscribe to the plan, you can continue using TikTok for free as usual. This means you can access all the same features, creators, and content on the social media platform. Of course, personalized ads will still appear for free users based on interest. The best thing is that they can change their preferences anytime using in-app controls in Settings.
Once the TikTok ad-free plan arrives in your account, you will be able to sign up straight away. However, not all users will get access to the new plan at the same time. It is being rolled out over the coming months to the UK community aged 18 or over. It looks like the company wants to see user response first before making it available to everyone.
TikTok also said its advertising model continues to play a key role in supporting the UK economy. The company will maintain an ad-supported version alongside the new subscription. This will help UK small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) reach the right audiences.
