One UI 9 Could Let You Pick Between Finder and Google Search

While some users are still waiting for the One UI 8.5 update, leaks about the One UI 9 continue to surface. The latest one points to a small but meaningful change that could affect how you search on your phone every day.
Samsung could add a new home screen search option in One UI 9
According to a new APK teardown from Android Authority, Samsung may give users the option to choose between its own Finder search and Google Search directly from the home screen. It is especially useful for those who prefer Google Search instead of Samsung Finder.
Instead of forcing a single option, users may be able to choose Finder, Google Search, or even use both at the same time. There could also be an option to remove the search bar entirely.
Finder vs Google Search
If this feature rolls out, it won’t just be a cosmetic option. The two systems actually serve different purposes. While Samsung Finder focuses on your phone for searching through apps, settings, files, and other on-device content, Google Search focuses on web search results, suggestions, and online content. Also, Google Search can find apps from your device, just like Samsung Finder.
As is often the case with APK teardowns, nothing is officially confirmed, and features can still change or disappear. But given how much Samsung has been pushing customization and user control lately, this one feels pretty likely to make the final cut.
