Samsung India Mobile Head Quits After Nearly Two Decades

Samsung is going through a leadership change in one of its biggest markets. Samsung India’s mobile business head, Raju Antony Pullan, has stepped down after spending close to 18 years with the company. He most recently served as Senior Vice President and led the Mobile Experience (MX) division in the country since 2022.
Raju Antony Pullan exits Samsung India after 18 years
Pullan announced his exit on LinkedIn. He described his time at Samsung as a “fantastic journey” and highlighted how he helped bring Galaxy smartphones to millions of users across India. He also confirmed that he is moving on to a new role, but hasn’t revealed what comes next.
Samsung has not officially confirmed a successor yet. However, a report from Moneycontrol suggest that Aditya Babbar, who currently handles product marketing and e-commerce for the mobile division, could take over. If that happens, the transition would be an internal one, which is usually how Samsung handles key leadership roles in major markets.
The timing is important. India remains one of the most competitive smartphone markets globally, with brands from China continuing to push aggressively on pricing and features. Samsung is still among the top players, but the gap has narrowed in recent years. That makes leadership changes like this more significant than they might seem at first glance.
Pullan’s exit closes a long chapter for Samsung in India. He was involved in multiple parts of the business over the years, including sales and consumer electronics, before leading mobile. Now, the focus shifts to what comes next, as Samsung looks to defend its position in a market that continues to get tougher every year.
