Apple’s Galaxy Glasses Rival May Feature Several Frame Styles

Apple is developing a pair of smart glasses that could compete with Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Glasses. A fresh leak has now surfaced on the web, revealing what the Cupertino giant is cooking up to make its new wearable stand out. The glasses could come with multiple frame styles and a unique camera design.

Leak reveals new key details about Apple’s smart glasses

Apple’s smart glasses project is currently in development under the codename N50. A few weeks ago, we learned they may feature a dual-camera system for different tasks, such as capturing high-quality photos and understanding the surroundings. The latest Bloomberg report now reveals the company is working on a new camera design with vertically oriented oval lenses and surrounding lights. This is different from the circular camera design seen in Meta’s glasses.

Furthermore, Apple glasses may offer at least four frame options with color finishes like black, ocean blue, and light brown. One option is a large rectangular frame that resembles Ray-Ban Wayfarers. There could be a slimmer rectangular design. The company is also testing a larger oval or circular frame and a smaller oval or circular option.

Reports suggest that Apple could unveil its smart glasses at the end of 2026 or early next year. They may go on sale sometime in 2027. Meanwhile, rival Samsung could introduce its Galaxy Glasses this year, though another model is reportedly in the pipeline for 2027. The former is said to be a display-less smart glasses device with a single 12MP camera. In the battery department, the glasses could pack a 245mAh unit.

A Samsung executive recently confirmed that the smart glasses will feature a built-in camera at eye level. The glasses will pair with a smartphone to process the data received from the camera. This approach could help the system understand the user’s surroundings and then respond to queries through an AI assistant.
