Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition’s Alleged Launch Date Leaked

by | Sep 30, 2024 | Galaxy Z, News

Multiple reports have suggested that Samsung is working on a new, slim variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 foldable flagship phone. The device will be called the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, offering some much-needed upgrades. The renders of the slimmer foldable were already leaked earlier. The rumor mill suggested the phone would launch at some point in October. Now, its launch and sale start dates have been leaked.

Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition could go official on October 18

According to a poster shared by an X user, a Korean retailer has updated the estimated pre-order dates for the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. The poster says the phone will be available to pre-order between October 18 and October 24 in South Korea. The delivery date for the pre-orders is mentioned for October 25.

The poster indicates a Friday-to-Friday launch scheme. This suggests the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition could launch on October 18. It’s worth mentioning that Samsung hasn’t yet officially confirmed anything. So it’s advisable to take the information regarding the launch date with a pinch of salt for now.

Notably, the leaked screenshot refers to the phone as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition, rather than the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. The former is the regular Fold 6’s Samsung-exclusive color variant. It has been long available but was recently listed as a new phone on Samsung India’s website, confusing a few.

However, what makes us believe the fresh leak reveals the launch date for the upcoming slim foldable is the URL for the landing page. It says “F958,” which should indicate the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition’s rumored model number (SM-F958). The regular Fold 6 bears the model number SM-F956. We should get a clearer picture soon.
