Samsung has released a fix for the pesky camera zoom issue on the Galaxy S23 Ultra that cropped up following the One UI 6.1.1 update. The company has rolled out a new update to address the bug. The fix is currently available for users in its homeland, South Korea. A wider rollout should begin soon.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra gets a new update with One UI 6.1.1 camera fix

One UI 6.1.1 introduced a weird bug to the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Zoom photos captured between 16x and 19.9x magnifications produced blurry ghosting effects around the edges. Other zoom levels were unaffected, and so were the base S23 and S23+. Samsung temporarily suspended the rollout after users reported the issue.

It recently resumed the update for the devices. The company has now released a fix for the problem. Galaxy S23 Ultra users in South Korea received a new update with a vague changelog. It mentions stability improvements for enhanced system reliability. Users who installed the update say the camera phenomenon has improved. The phone no longer produces weird effects in zoom shots.

The latest update for the Galaxy S23 Ultra comes with the firmware build number S918NKSU4CXI1. It’s a 376MB update with no other changes. Samsung has already pushed all supported AI features and other One UI 6.1.1 enhancements to the phone globally. The September security patch has also been released to the phone widely. This update is all about the camera fix.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra should receive this bug fix in other markets soon. It might be followed by the October security patch, or maybe Samsung will bundle the fix with the new patch in some markets. The company is also working on One UI 7.0 beta for Galaxy devices. It may launch beta programs in October. We will let you know when we have more information about the new One UI version.
