Last month, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy A57 5G, its next-generation premium mid-range smartphone. Now, a teardown video of the device has given us an inside look at how easy it is to repair. It shows the company continues to focus on improving repairability, achieving a score of 9 out of 10.

Samsung makes its latest Galaxy A57 easy to repair

In a teardown video by PBKreviews, the YouTuber carefully disassembles the Galaxy A57 5G to know its internal design. The process starts by removing the SIM tray, then heating the back glass panel to soften the adhesive. Once done, we can lift the back cover without much force.

Speaking of the camera lens covers, we can replace them by applying heat and prying them off. This means that minor damage to the camera glass does not require opening the entire phone. Inside the phone, there are now 18 Phillips screws holding different components. This makes the device easier to open and service than phones that depend mainly on glue.

The company secures the battery using an adhesive pouch with pull tabs. This lets us remove the battery safely without bending or damaging it. As for display replacement, we can remove the screen from the front by applying heat to loosen the adhesive. That said, the short flex cable may make it slightly more difficult.

In the camera department, the Galaxy A57 5G features a triple-lens setup on the main board. We get a 50MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 5MP macro unit. Only the main camera includes optical image stabilization. The company lets you disconnect the camera modules by just popping them off, making repairs more straightforward. You can watch the video below to learn the complete teardown process.

The YouTuber gave the Galaxy A57 a repairability score of 9 out of 10, which is quite impressive. The phone will hit US stores on April 9 with a starting price of $549.99 for 8GB/128GB.
