Samsung Evaluates Multi Sound Support for Android Auto in One UI 7.0

Samsung’s One UI 7.0 update could reintroduce Sound Assistant’s Multi Sound feature for Android Auto. The company removed this feature with One UI 6.1.1 after various compatibility issues. It is now evaluating Multi Sound’s application in the next major update. If the firm can resolve the problems quickly, expect it to be back with One UI 7.0 or 7.1.

Samsung is trying to bring back Multi Sound for Android Auto

Sound Assistant is a Samsung app for managing the system sounds of your Galaxy device. It offers more granular controls over various sound settings and lets you customize the audio output to your liking. You can create personalized sound settings, sound effects, EQ settings, vibration feedback, control volume for two apps simultaneously, and add more.

Multi Sound is a Sound Assistant feature that allows you to simultaneously play audio from multiple apps. It’s a handy tool to have when using Android Auto in your car. However, with One UI 6.1.1, Samsung dropped Multi Sound support for Android Auto. This means users can’t access the feature when Android Auto is running on their Galaxy devices.

A disappointed user recently took to Samsung’s community forum to question this removal. A Good Lock moderator responded with some good news — Sound Assistant is part of the Good Lock suite. According to them, Multi Sound behaved differently depending on the car manufacturer. This led to compatibility issues as users reported various problems.

To ensure the smooth functioning of Android Auto, the company decided to remove Multi Sound support. However, it is monitoring user feedback and re-evaluating its applications on the next OS version. If Samsung can figure out a solution to bypass the restrictions or compatibility issues caused by the car, Multi Sound for Android Auto might be back soon. One UI 7.0 is expected to enter the beta stage in October.
