The past few months have been spilling the beans about the Privacy Display feature. There have been leaks, teasers, and other details revealing it. Now that Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy S26 lineup, the Privacy Display feature is confirmed.

But one of the most important questions remains: do the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ support Privacy Display? Unfortunately, no. The base and Plus models do not support this anti-peeping feature. In other words, Privacy Display remains exclusive to the Ultra.

Privacy Display did not make it to the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+

So, if you want to try out Privacy Display, you will need to get the Galaxy S26 Ultra. It is one of the more innovative features we have seen on modern smartphones. It limits visibility from side angles, which helps protect sensitive information such as notifications or PIN prompts when you are in public.

You can turn it on with a simple toggle in Settings. Once enabled, it applies a software-controlled shading effect that scatters light through voltage-gated panels. This makes the screen harder to read from the sides, while keeping the display clear and vibrant for you.

You can enable “Maximum privacy protection” to further darken specific areas, such as alerts. You can even set it to turn on automatically for certain apps or on the lock screen. There is also localized shielding, which keeps sensitive parts hidden while leaving the rest of the screen fully visible, without affecting brightness or color accuracy.
