by | Sep 19, 2024 | Galaxy S, News, One UI

Samsung’s One UI 6.1.1 update is rolling out to the Galaxy S22 series. The 2022 flagships are receiving the big feature update in South Korea. It also brings the September security patch. The company should roll out the update in global markets, including the US, early next week. Or maybe later this week, we shall find out soon.

The Galaxy S22 series gets the One UI 6.1.1 update

The One UI 6.1.1-based update (software version remains One UI 6.1) for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra is rolling out to Korean users with the firmware build number S90*NKSU5EXH7. It’s a massive update weighing nearly 3GB. The phones are getting new AI features, camera enhancements, and tons of other stuff.

Samsung introduced these features with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 in July. It started rolling those out to older models earlier this month. Some advanced AI tools and camera features only work on the latest devices. Even the Galaxy S23 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 6 don’t get every One UI 6.1.1 goodie. Expect your Galaxy S22 to miss out on a few too.

Nonetheless, it’s a massive update that can substantially uplift your Galaxy experience. Samsung offers a lot of new stuff to play with, including Sketch to Image. This AI-powered tool can quickly turn rough sketches into proper images, or let you add non-existent objects to your photos. One UI 6.1.1 also contains a host of productivity tools.

With the rollout underway in Korea, it shouldn’t be long before the Galaxy S22 Ultra and other S22 models receive One UI 6.1.1 globally. Samsung may release the update widely early next week, if not over the weekend. We will let you know when it arrives. You can also manually check for updates from the Settings app. Go to the Software update menu and tap Download and install.
