One UI 7.0 Beta on the Horizon as Samsung Expands Internal Testing

by | Sep 17, 2024 | News, One UI

Samsung appears to have reached a key milestone in One UI 7.0 development. According to a recent report, the company has rolled out the latest build to more regional subsidiaries for broader internal testing. This step typically occurs when a public beta release is nearing. However, there’s still no official confirmation regarding the One UI 7.0 beta launch.

Samsung nears One UI 7.0 beta release, though a date is still missing

Unlike in the past, Samsung allegedly plans a shorter One UI 7.0 beta program. It’s working on fixing more obvious bugs internally before opening up the software to the public. With fewer bugs to fix, the company should be able to release the stable version faster. However, this approach has delayed the beta rollout. Halfway through September, there’s still no concrete information about the first beta update.

The latest word comes from the folks at SamMobile. They have received information about an interesting development around One UI 7.0. According to the report, Samsung has expanded internal beta testing to several subsidiaries where it doesn’t run beta programs. One UI beta programs are usually limited to China, Germany, India, Poland, South Korea, the UK, and the USA — these regions have been testing the update for a long.

This expansion typically happens closer to a public rollout of an update. While the report doesn’t name the subsidiaries where Samsung has started internal beta testing of One UI 7.0, it appears the company is gearing up to launch public beta programs. The Galaxy S24 series should get the beta update first, followed by other models. Depending on Samsung’s plans, mid-range models may or may not get beta programs.

If leaks are accurate, One UI 7.0 will massively change the look and feel of Samsung’s custom Android skin. The company has revamped the UI, updated app icons, and improved system animations for a smoother user experience. It aims to outclass Apple’s iOS 18 in system smoothness and fluidity. Expect enhanced customizability and new features too. Stick around for One UI 7.0 beta release.
