Galaxy S25, S25 Ultra set to Redefine Slim and Light Flagship Phones

by | Sep 13, 2024 | Galaxy S, News

A few months down the line, the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Ultra are set to make waves in the smartphone world. The new Samsung flagships will be the thinnest and lightest smartphones in their respective segment, a reputed industry insider claims. They are a testament to the Korean firm’s focus on pushing the boundaries of design and innovation while ensuring an industry-leading user experience.

Samsung’s Galaxy S25 flagships are slim and featherlight

Reputed Samsung leaker Ice Universe recently revealed that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will be just 8.2mm thick and weigh 219 grams. In comparison, the S24 Ultra is 8.6mm thick and weighs 233 grams. The 2025 model is thinner and lighter than the iPhone 16 Pro Max and Pixel 9 Pro XL. The new phone is also narrower than its predecessor, while still offering a bigger and wider screen thanks to slimmer bezels.

It appears the base Galaxy S25 will bring the same design improvements to the table. While we don’t yet have its dimensions and weight, the leaker claims similar upgrades for it. “A few months later, the thinnest and lightest small-screen flagship and large-screen flagship on the planet,” Ice Universe captioned a photo of Samsung’s Galaxy S25 and S25 Ultra on X earlier today.

Leaked Galaxy S25 renders have already revealed a slightly more compact build with narrower bezels and frame width. The Plus model should also offer a similar design and build. Samsung aims to enhance the visual appeal of its flagship phones alongside the performance and user experience. If leaks are accurate, the super-slim Galaxy S25 flagships will outperform their rivals in all aspects, including the iPhone 16 lineup.

The new Samsung flagships should launch in early 2025. The Korean behemoth may ship all three models with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset globally. While the Exynos 2500 is in development, it looks unlikely to power the Galaxy S25 series. Things could change in the coming weeks, though.
