Galaxy S24 FE Price Leak Suggests Biggest Hike Yet for FE Lineup

by | Sep 10, 2024 | Galaxy S, News

Samsung may not increase the Galaxy Tab S10’s price, but the Galaxy S24 FE might end up costing more. If a fresh leak is accurate, the new Fan Edition phone could be the costliest yet, at least in some markets. The Korean firm is expected to unveil these devices in October.

Leaked Galaxy S24 FE price hints at a massive hike

According to Roland Quandt of Winfuture, the Galaxy S24 FE will cost €799 for the base variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. That’s a €100 hike over the Galaxy S23 FE’s starting price in Europe with the same configuration (€699). If the rumored price is accurate, we are looking at the costliest FE phone from Samsung yet.

While the price in hand corresponds to the European market, Samsung might similarly increase the Galaxy S24 FE’s prices in other regions. Interestingly, the company initially announced the Galaxy S23 FE at $599 but when the sales opened, it retailed for $629. Based on this leak, the 2024 model might cost over $700 stateside.

As big as a hike this is, Samsung probably had no other choice. The Galaxy S24 FE brings a host of upgrades that should justify a higher price tag, at least to an extent. Most notably, it has a larger screen, measuring 6.7 inches instead of 6.4 inches. Screen brightness goes up from 1,450 nits to 1,900 nits. We should still get a Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, FHD resolution, and HDR10+ support.

While earlier FE phones used a two-year-old flagship SoC, Samsung is equipping the Galaxy S24 FE with its 4nm Exynos 2400e. It’s an underclocked version of the Exynos 2400 powering the Galaxy S24 and S24+ in some markets. The device runs Android 14 out of the box, but it’s unclear if Samsung will offer seven years of updates. With an official launch expected in October, more leaks and rumors should follow soon.
