Galaxy S25 Ultra Dimensions Confirm its Thin and Compact Design

by | Sep 8, 2024 | Galaxy S, News

Samsung’s hardware design team seems to have pulled out all the stops for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The device is rumored to be the thinnest and lightest top-tier flagship of its generation, outshining rivals like the iPhone 16 Pro Max and Pixel 9 Pro XL. We now have its exact dimensions, giving us a clear measure of the Korean firm’s design efforts. The new flagship is substantially slimmer and more compact than its predecessor.

Galaxy S25 Ultra is slimmer, lighter, and packed with power

According to Ice Universe, the Galaxy S25 Ultra has a dimension of 162.8 x 77.6 x 8.2 mm. This makes it 0.4mm slimmer and 1.4mm narrower than the S24 Ultra, which measures 162.3 x 79.0 x 8.6 mm. The new flagship is slightly taller but should feel more compact thanks to a slimmer and narrower build. For a quick comparison, the Pixel 9 Pro XL is 8.5mm thick, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max is rumored to be 8.3mm thick.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra is also rumored to weigh less than these two flagships, which weigh 221 grams and 225 grams, respectively. The S24 Ultra is heavier than both, weighing 232 grams. Samsung has also substantially reduced bezels to allow for a bigger screen — 6.9 inches instead of 6.8 inches. All of this while still offering a 5,000mAh battery and a built-in S Pen. This is a significant design overhaul for the phone.

The new Galaxy flagship brings another notable design change. It introduces an asymmetric frame that is more curved on the back than the front. This design ensures a lesser projection for the frame on the front side, making the bezels slimmer. The mockup image below shows the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s rear design, though we are still awaiting information on the camera layout. Samsung will probably rethink the camera setup too.

Despite the intensity of leaks growing, the Galaxy S25 series is still months away. Samsung is expected to officially unveil the new flagships in January 2025. While the company has already announced the Exynos 2500, the phones may run the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 (For Galaxy) chipset globally.
