Galaxy S24 FE Certified with 15W Wireless Charging, Design Revealed

by | Sep 4, 2024 | Galaxy S, News

Samsung’s Galaxy S24 FE is once again in the spotlight, this time a regulatory certification revealing its design and wireless charging speed. The Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) certified the upcoming Fan Edition phone and posted a seemingly official render showing its front and rear design. The device could go official next month.

Galaxy S24 FE will retain 15W wireless charging

The WPC certified the US version of the Galaxy S24 FE with the model number SM-S721U. The listing even mentioned the device’s official marketing name, i.e., Galaxy S24 FE. Additionally, it revealed that the phone will support 15W wireless charging, unchanged from the S23 FE. There have been rumors about Samsung dropping the wireless charging speed to 9W, but those don’t appear to be true.

The Galaxy S24 FE will also retain its predecessor’s 25W wired charging speed. It likely keeps the reverse wireless charging speed unchanged at 4.5W. The battery capacity is allegedly going up from 4,500mAh to 4,600mAh because Samsung has made the device bigger. Instead of a 6.4-inch display, the new model sports a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The new FE model may feature the same four cameras as the 2023 model. We are talking about a 50MP primary shooter, a 12MP ultrawide camera, an 8MP 3x zoom camera, and a 10MP selfie camera. Expect an aluminum frame with Gorilla Glass on the front and back, IP68 dust and water resistance, stereo speakers, Bluetooth v5.3, Wi-Fi 6E, and an under-display optical fingerprint scanner.

Samsung will equip the device with an underclocked Exynos 2400 used on the Galaxy S24 and S24+. The so-called Exynos 2400e will power the phone globally, including in the US. The phone also gets a RAM upgrade with a 12GB RAM variant in the pipeline. The Korean firm allegedly plans to launch the Galaxy S24 FE in October. The device may keep an unchanged starting price of $600.
